Save Earth

Conceptual Art focuses on “ideas and purposes” rather than the “works of art”.  To differentiate, conceptual art uses mixed media with a variety of everyday materials and “ready-made objects”.

Save Earth conceptualism is an awareness art of endangered species in Malaysia.  In this entrance showcase, we have highlighted five species, namely, Javan Rhino, Bornean Orangutan, Malayan Tapir, Malayan Tiger and Malayan Pangolin.  We have documented their strengths, threats, “save me” awareness and their impact to the eco-system.  We have tried our best to use found objects.  The 7 ft rainforest scene painting was done on used cardboard packaging.  The tapir is a cardboard sculpture, the frame of “Save Earth” painting uses old toys.  Some new materials adapted for educational purpose, such as the figures and the tissue flowers.

  • Refuse – We rented instead of buying props.
  • Reduce – We have reduced bought material by recycling cardboards.
  • Reuse – We have reused the flowers and the main archway from past events.
  • Repurpose – We have repurposed the toys to become part of the artistic frame.
  • Recycle – Cardboard sculpture can be classified as recycle because we have used the same material for something else.
